 Nopi's Dead/ AMS Takes Over for the event |

Well i was sorta bummed when i heard nopi was cancelled, i dont care about people bitching about all the rice i just like to get outta town for a weekend and have fun with friends and nice cars. So the Atlanta Motor Speedway has decided to still put on the show. Here are some details from another site. Also sorry if this has been posted, i didnt see it.
Even though NOPI has canceled their biggest event of the past 20 years, AMS is still going to have it. They will be hosting it themselves with the help of the locals (I am not the host, just helping to spread the word). You can still look forward to drifting, car show and array of other activities. Specifics are being discussed and will be released shortly. Please keep your calendar empty for the 3rd weekend in Sept. as usual (which is Sept 20-21)! I will post more when the details become available. For now I know that the drifting will be open to all drivers, not just pros (hopefully with tandem).....so get your cars ready and save your tires, because it will be a 2 day event.
If you have any suggestion on sponsors (or want to sponsor the event) or type of things you would like to see incorporated into the event or if you would like to volunteer to work the event, let me know and I will pass along the information. Also media can contact me for now and I will see how we are to handle that. I can be reached at tracy@batlground.com
Car club people, feel free to contact me and I will make sure we have the details of whether or not there will be reserved areas for big clubs (like NOPI usually has).
Long Story Short: NOPI Canceled and AMS is still having an event on that weekend anyways.

so what's the call boss? we gonna go or just hang out at the house? or even better, Daytona? we could swing through, and if it looks like it's busted, we can just keep goin south til we see some water...

well daytona sounds good but I need to get this rice thing straight. what is rice? Now I have been in this car scene for a long time and once upon a time rice was meant for a car that looked like junk. I am going to start a new post I want to hear what y'all think.

"Rice" is a car that is overdone. Too big a wing, too wild of paint, too obscene a body kit, and usually done in a quick/ unprofessional manner. For instance, a car with a primer job sitting at wal-mart, that's rice. if it's on the way to a paint shop, that's ok. The green fuckus that lives in my neighborhood with "Strictly Foreign" on the windshield, rice. Zach's car (for now til you get ahold of it and him) is rice. He's more rice than the car though... He just doesn't care. Antonio's old 350z, it's near rice... it needs a decent paint job and it'd be clean... but that combined with the vert doors makes it rather ricey.
